Can someone make this version of the Willow Tree creche for me?!!
Handmade Willow Tree Look-a-like Creche
Or two? My girlie Jenny and I collect Willow Tree figures and started the Nativity set last year with the main 6 pieces. We’re adding to it a bit each year…and this would be a nice alternative, relatively inexpensively. I think we’re looking at adding Wisemen to the set for this year.
Though I have no problems attempting it myself (except for the mitered edges and well…trim strips and wood glue are MY friends, right?!!), it’s not a high priority right now. Maybe after Christmas?
12/18/08 - had a return card from Lowe’s with $15 on it…paid the $3 difference and bought some wood. And the nice boys at Lowe’s cut all my wood for me, for free. I changed up/simplified some of the measurements…(like I would’ve asked Chad to “please cut this piece 9-5/12″ by 7-3/4″ for me”, that would’ve been it!) Seriously, 9-5/12 inches?! What kind of tape measure does that guy have? Mine is in 8ths. So, 9-1/2″ will be just fine…heck, let’s make it 10″. It’s not like we’re baking here! We’ll see how this project actually comes together (Hopefully it’ll be better than my as-yet-unfinished cake stand!). Photos to follow. P.S. - I added a miter box and back saw to my tool box - a table saw would’ve been better, but I doubt my neighbors (or my wallet) would have agreed! Laugh freely, I can’t hear you!
