Irreverance

I always wondered where this quote came from:

“And remember, no matter where you go, there you are.
  - Earl Mac Rauch

Now I know.

Completed the classroom portion of my fitness instructor training this past Saturday.  Now begins the practical experience and observing other instructors.  I feel pretty confident I could warm up/cool down a class (with notecards, just in case!) but with my schedule up through mid-July, I don’t want to add more stress until I can get some things off my plate.   Much to do….

Some projects to share later…

Papercrafting Tip - Paperpiercing

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

Paperpiercing - putting holes in your paper to either mimic stitching, to add texture, etc. Not to be confused with paper piecing…

Tired of guessing where to put the holes, so it comes out even? Tired of holes that are too far apart or too close together?

I’ve got a quick, cheap and easy solution:

Plastic canvas. An 8.5 x 11″ sheet (don’t cut it down, unless you really want to and that is your deal) works great for square or rectangular areas - photos, mats, cards, etc. There are also shaped piece s of plastic canvas - circles, stars, etc. Shapes that work great for other subtle/added accents.

Lay the plastic canvas over the piece you want to pierce and use it as a template - pierce through the holes in the template. No need to mark first…unless that is your M.O. You can use a Sharpie to mark your canvas if it makes it easier for you to stay in the right “track”. So, pick them up while they are cheap, because as soon as someone slaps a label on them that says they are for “scrapbooking” or “card making” they are going to be 10 times the current going rate! Seriously. And now that I’ve saved you some money, go spend some at your local scrapbook store…let’s keep these people/families in business!

The how-to tutorial for creating text in a circle: circular-text-ps

And that collage frame…will be coming up tomorrow. Under closer scrutiny, there are some things I want to tweak. And it’s late, so it’s probably not a good idea to do it now!

Procrastinating

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

I feel another apron makeover coming up.  A small one that ties around your waist.  Which usually means that I’ve stalled on some other creative work - this time my script.   I’ve got 2 stories where there should only be one…so I need to determine what is the story I want to write and nail down the premise.  I’ll figure out later if there’s another separate story or if my mind was just wandering!

So, stay tuned.  I’m thinking either a cute owl, or something with stars in it…

Well…

after yesterday’s snooze-fest, I feel pretty good today.  Woke up plenty early and got some chores done, so now it’s on to homework.   Which is going to be a heck of a lot of writing!  Had several light bulb moments last night about the script I’m writing for class - which is a VERY good thing.  Hope to get them all out - if I can read my own scribbling from last night.  I’m relying on Final Draft to do all my formatting for me, so I’ll be going through a couple tutorials on that.

In other news, I created a digital frame collage for a marketing piece I created for work.  I’ll be sharing that later today as well.  I left the flash drive in my computer at work, so when I go to the store later, I’ll swing by and pick it up so I can share it with y’all.  I’ll also have the individual frame so you can layer and create your own…if you’re so inclined.

Another hot  humid day in Florida.  It was actually really nice last night when we grilled, but the humidity was back again this morning.   Not much else planned…my neighbor will probably come over later to do a mini scrapbook for her grandma.  That should be interesting as she has 2 little girls, ages 1 and 4.  My cabinets are once again baby-proofed and I’m ready for the million and one questions from the 4 year-old!    Ah the memories of those days!  LOL

Time to hit the books…more later!
