Must live beyond the moment…

I think there must be times where you have to live in the past or future, but not in the present or you’ll go crazy.  Let me explain.  When your kids are teens, you have to remember back to when they were little, cute, innocent and thought you just knew everything.  Or you imagine 7-8 years into the future and satisfy yourself that THEN they’ll get it. . . you know, what you were telling them about the real world, being disciplined, self-motivating and responsible.  How do scrapbooker’s reconcile this period of their lives when the memories that are being made are less that scrappable?  If it’s even possible to get any photos of teens without a huge telephoto lens on your camera!  Do you even want to remember these years?  Probably, if only to prove that it really was “that bad” and you’ll actually have the proof!  Because hopefully, they’ll have children of their own one day.  And the “curse” is passed on (you know, the one where you tell them “…and I hope you have one just like you!”)…

Keeping my sense of humor.  Peace.  Love you Mom!

Okay, I’m boring lately.

Or most all the time - depends.  Sigh.  We’re finally settled in and unpacking.  Well, moving boxes and people from one room to another.  So, it’s still kind of dicey trying to find things.  I had to totally change Easter outfits because I just could not locate either pair of my sandals.  Blah.  Minor bump.  I did make a few Spring cards that I should share.  Pretty easy, ready-made backgrounds.  A $1 stamp from M’s….colored with Tombow markers.

Now we’re having issues with A at school.  Or I should say, when he goes to school.  He actually skipped school half the days in March!  In 6th grade, no less.  Who does that?!  So, he’s seriously grounded until he pulls it together.  He had a serious attitude problem in school yesterday, so extra chores.  And Mom, you’ll be proud to know that I have the coaxial cable for the internet and cable TV in my purse.  Yup.  And all his video games - locked in the car with me.  The saga continues…Mommy Boot Camp is next.  Not something I really want to do, but he’s just about there.  6am PT, chores before chow (geez, that just sounds disgusting!), inspection before school…school lunches…then more of same after school, including homework and special projects.  Shower and lights out at 8:30-9pm.   Grrr.

Back to work, plenty to do.  Hopefully, more fun stuff later!

Moved.  Cleaned.  Done.  Thank goodness!

Phone still not working…but it should be fixed no later than tomorrow.  And cable internet back on tomorrow too.

Now starts the unpacking, more cleaning, washing clothes & bedding and grocery shopping.  At least there aren’t any hard deadlines with that.

And  tomorrow is Thomas’ 17th birthday.  WOW.

Breathe!
