90% Done

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

Tired, sweaty and not quite done, but only about 10% left.  Thank goodness!  I am simply amazed at the quantity of stuff I had crammed in my bedroom alone.  Oh, let me rephrase that…my “art studio/bedroom”.  I had more in there related to crafting than sleeping, dressing, reading, etc.   Romantic, huh?!  LOL….

The kids pulled through, especially Adam who was going on very little sleep.  His room still isn’t near done, but he hauled many things over to the new place.  Thomas brought his friend Connor over and they knocked out the big stuff.   All in all a good day, but still 10 grueling hours.  A hot shower sounds really good right now.  Then my bed.

Have a good one!  I’m off to clean- town and la-la land!

Moving….it’s always something.

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

besides not getting the help my kids promised (yet anyway), I’m taking things over to the new place kind of working up a sweat.  I decide to close the windows/doors and kick the air on.  Thermostat to Cool, Auto and drop the temp to 70 (it reads 80).  Nothing.  Push it down to 50 - still nothing.  Move it to ON.  Absolutely nothing happening.  I leave to go get more.  Come back…still nothing.

I take the phone over as it’s not working here as scheduled.  BUT it’s not working over there either.  Not even a dial tone or message (I get that with the “old” place).

So, I can’t call maintenance.  Can’t find where the kids are (one is at dad’s, the other is working) so I can’t “reserve them” for tomorrow, y’know?!  It’s always something….I can’t wait for Monday.  Did I really just write that?!

Add “moving” to my unlucky things list.  Sigh.  I’m sure I will laugh about this later.

Going for food.

Moving, moving…

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

this weekend!  Never enjoy moving, but we’ll gain an extra bedroom and it’s just the next building over.  Hopefully, things will go off without much drama…we’ll see though, still a LOT to get done.  Life is interesting with boys, enough said!

Peace -

Satellite P100 Gaming System

…she hasn’t been keeping a charge…kind of cantankerous and forgetful.  So, off to the PC Dr. she went.  Poor thing has a hairline fracture at the power connection!  But it’s repairable and will not cost that much to fix (under $75).   So, a big FAT “HA” to that amateur hack out there who trashed the laptop I gave my son a few months ago because he had no clue what he was doing (it had the same problem).

Anyhow, that’s *some* of the good news for today.  Everyday stuff…everyday good.

Peace.  It’s quitting time!

Sunday

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

Wow, so many things rolling through my head this weekend.  Here’s the short list:

Moving: Thursday this week (a to-do list a mile long!) putting together a moving plan, have to switch over the utilities and I have a lot of decorating ideas!

Show ideas: researching, researching.  Everything from set design and camera angles to content and making it WOW!  Just being a sponge.  Then there’s the “other” project and learning.  All in good time.

Enjoying the beautiful weather…it will not last long!  And it’s always hard to predict when the humidity will descend on us like a heavy theatre curtain that tries to suffocate us…until October or so.

Thank goodness for supermarket rotisserie Lemon Pepper chicken, deli Southern Potato Salad and frozen Key Lime pie.   Quick, effortless, delicious and it doesn’t heat up the house.  I love to cook and try new recipes, but sometimes I just need a day off here & there.  Especially Sunday’s.   Yumm-o!

Cats & dogs.  Garfield & Odie.  Boy, these guys make me laugh.  And the Betta is still swimming.  Must be doing something right.  Keeping all the balls up in the air!

Yeah, that’s really the short list.  Add the everyday stuff: job, kids, friends & other relationships, computers & technology and well, your head might just explode!  LOL…okay, not getting enough sleep!

I am…

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up! a rubber stamping/scrapbooking company.  There, I said it!  Tomorrow I’m going to the Regional convention over in Tampa.  I think it’s time to take the next step out to do workshops, classes, etc.  I was so busy before with “other things” that even the thought was overwhelming.  Now, it’s calming down enough to where I’d like for it to generate a bit to support itself and my “habit”.   No, I won’t be shoving it down everyone’s throat…but hey, if you’re interested, let me know.   Ideally, I’d like to do 2-3 events a month besides the monthly crop I’m hosting with the Recreation Department.  Hopefully, I learn some things tomorrow to get that going.  AFTER we move next weekend.  Here’s to more space, less clutter and OrGAniZAtioN!!

Getting to bed early tonight.  The week has caught up with me and I have tons to get done this weekend!  More later…probably Sunday.

Lost Doggie FOUND!

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

A wonderful family several blocks beyond our search area last night found him and kept him overnight.  The mother knocked on my door this morning with the news!  I went to pick him up and he wouldn’t stop licking me.  He rode in my lap all the way home…not an easy thing to do, he’s kind of a moose with sharp, boney legs.  Adam was thrilled!  Tonight, we go to get him ANOTHER dog tag with our name & phone number on it.

Tired today, but happy to have the oggie-dog home! (I think the cat missed his brother last night - he slept on the edge of my bed all night)

Doggie’s & Fireworks

Author: sharon  //  Category: Uncategorized

Do NOT, repeat do NOT mix.  We live next to the Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training field.  After night games, we walk outside to enjoy the fireworks show.  Tonight was the first night/home game of the season.  I had Copper out for a potty break when they started - he was okay.  I had even sat down on the sidewalk with him.  Then one of those delayed, huge sonic boom explosions went off.  He bolted directly behind me, pulling me over backwards, scraping my shoulder (spaghetti strap tank top) and I instinctively let go.  Off he went up the stairs - home I thought.  Instead he headed back down the stairs at the far end of the building - the fireworks still firing, oblivious to Copper’s terror.  I feel so bad.  We’ve been out looking for almost 3 hours now.   I pray someone has found him and taken him in for the night.  He has his leash & collar on and he’s microchipped through the shelter we adopted him from.  I don’t think any of us will be sleeping very well or very much tonight.  Keep us in your thoughts, if you will.

Hug your fur-babies tonight and be careful with them during your fireworks season.  <end PSA>

A Little Something

I finished up over the weekend.  An envelope album.  This one has 5 - 6″ x 9″ envelopes bound in an accordian spine with thick chipboard covers.  The envelopes close with velcro and hold tickets, brochures, maps - all those loose little things that one collects while on vacation.  And the blank pages will hold photos, post cards and any journaling they want to add.  It felt really good to finish it…and I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out.  Glad I did a first run at it though as there were a few “technical difficulties”.  But with some Un-du, it all worked out and my friend Daniel loved it.  They are going to Montreal in June, so I hope it serves them well.  And I’ll get to hear how well it holds up, what they liked about it and how they used it.  I’ll definitely be making more of these - and variations - in the future.   In fact, I’m sure you’ll see one of these on a show soon!

Must run…Hugs!

Love this card generator!

Big thanks to Keith for getting my blog header up.  I’m sure as this thing evolves I’m going to owe you big time.   I appreciate all you do & put up with <grin> - especially when Jenny & I get together.

Speaking of…I’m heading up to Maine at the end of May for some R & R and serious crafty time with my girlie Jenny.  Love that I’m getting to see part of the country I’ve never been to, and that we’ll have so much time to create, chat, laugh, hang out….the best!  I can not wait.  Tickets - purchased.  Time off from work - approved.  Must do projects - identified.   70 days.  Seems like plenty of time, but with everything going on, I know it will fly by!

Moving - April 1st, we’ll have a new address.  Same apartment complex, different building & larger apartment.  Change is good.

Cable Access classes are completed.  I have the certificate & ID badge to prove it.  It’s time for “Everyday Scrapbooking” to go into production.  I have talked to quite a few people who have expressed an interest in being guests, having me film at their location, and working behind the scenes creating samples.  Life is good.  I’m trying to fit in some time to work on some scripts and create a set.  Actually, I think Jenny’s scraproom is going to be my “set”.  Love the blue screen & chroma key.   Now, to find a director who shares my vision.  I’ll have the full Adobe Premier Suite for Video Editing soon.  That’ll allow me to do some pretty cool things too.  It’s kind of a one-woman show right now but that’s short term until I can find a video editor who shares my vision.  See a trend?!  LOL.

More later…must get some things done this morning!
